GTG has a new Chief Executive Officer

After 25 years of service, David McPherson retired as Chief Executive from Gloucestershire Training Group with Linsey Campbell being appointed as the new CEO.   Linsey has worked at Gloucestershire Training Group for 14 years and started as an administration apprentice straight from school.   She undertook a four year apprenticeship where she not only gained valuable knowledge and experience of the organisation, but also obtained NVQ 2 & 3 in Business Administration, NVQ 2 in Customer Services and a HNC in Business and Finance.   During her apprenticeship she took over the role of Training Co-Ordinator within the organisation.

After the completion of the offical 4 year appernticeship, Linsey took on the role of PA to the Group Training Manager and remained in education on a part time basis to upgrade her HNC to a HND and then progressed on to achieve an Honours Degree in the Management of Human resources.

In 2005, Linsey was promoted to the Group Training Manager and Gloucestershire Training Group continued to support her educational and professional development which saw her achieve a Masters Degree in the Management of Human Resources and obtain the status of Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Personal and Development (CIPD).

After 2 short maternity breaks over a 2 year period, Linsey returned to GTG in 2008 on the agreement that she would take over the role of Chief Executive and entered into an 18 month handover phase of employment.

Outgoing Chief Executive David McPherson explained that GTG are strong believers in continuous development and indicated the value and benefits that apprentices can bring to any organisation.   He continued to say that Linsey is proof of the opportunities available to apprentices and a way of demonstrating that not only do GTG train on behalf of other organisations, but also fully support and encourage personal and professional development of their own employees.

Linsey said that she was very grateful for all the opportunities that GTG have provided her with and was very excited about her new role.   She continued to say that her approach to leadership and management is somewhat different to that of the former CEO but was confident that she will maintain and further improve on the standards of performance and delivery within the organisation.
